Malala Yousafzai on Oct 8th 2013 published
an autobiography with Christina Lamb
entitled I am Malala: The Girl Who Stood
up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. Hopefully, it is the first of
many that this interesting young woman will pen over the course of her lifetime
unless the Taliban has its way and silences her for showing “no courage”, as it
threatened to do only this week. The book reveals her love for the beauty of
her homeland and the power of example: Yousafzai’s mother was due to start
learning to read and write on the day that her daughter was shot in the head.
This is why the Taliban is still running scared of her or rather, the powerful
figure that their violence and ignorance has created.
Taliban
Her autobiography I am Malala, written with journalist
Christina Lamb, has gone on sale in Pakistan and Shahidullah Shahid warned the Taliban
would target bookshops stocking it.
“Malala is the enemy of Islam and Taliban and
she wrote this book against Islam and Taliban,” he said.
