MULLAH FAZLULLAH IS NEW CHIEF OF PAKISTANI TALIBAN

On 7 Nov 2013 Maulana Fazlullah was elected by the Pakistani Taliban as its new chief, succeeding Hakimullah Mehsud who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in North Waziristan on 1st nov 2013.
"Fazlullah has been elected as the new chief," Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid told reporters.
Maulana Fazlullah, (born 1974) nicknamed the "Radio Mullah" or "Mullah Radio", is the leader of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), a banned Pakistani Islamic fundamentalist militant group allied to the Pakistani Taliban, that aims to enforce Sharia in the country. He is sometimes referred to as "chief" of the Swat Taliban and is the son-in-law of the TNSM's founder, Sufi Muhammad.
Known for his ruthlessness, Fazlullah was nicknamed "Mullah Radio" for his fiery sermons on an illegal FM station while heading a parallel administration in Swat Valley, 160 km from Islamabad, during 2007-09.
Fazlullah rose to prominence as a leader of the banned Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariah-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), which merged with the TTP in 2007 following the military crackdown on extremists holed up in Lal Masjid in Islamabad.
Mullah Fazlullah, who ordered the assassination of teenage activist Malala Yusufzai and led a brutal rule in Swat Valley.
