J.N.Chaudhary was appointed as new head
of NSG (National Security Guard) on 26 December 2013.He is a 1978 batch IPS
officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre. J.N.Chaudhary got his name clear from the
Union Home Ministry. He will take his charge from incumbent Arvind Ranjan. He
had also served in Intelligence Bureau. He is due to retire in may 2015.
National Security Guard (NSG) is a
special force in India that has primarily been utilised for counter-terrorism
activities. The NSG operates under the oversight of the Ministry of Home
Affairs and is headed by the Director General of the Indian Police Service
(IPS).The NSG members are also known as Black Cats because of the black drill
cotton coveralls and balaclavas or helmets they wear.
